Jim,
You state that you need 4 requirements to start a vending machine business
1)Business plan
2)Vending experience
3)Down payment
4)Strong Credit
This leaves out about 75% of people in this economy due to lay-offs, foreclosures, medical bills, debts, no vending experience, not enough funds, bad credit, etc.
Won’t this affect Healthy Vending to sell more machines to others, who desire to purchase them, and to help the company to grow in the future to stay in business? Other vending companies (even other healthy vending co.’s) can compete and sell more vending machines if they offer training, funding, etc., and make it easier for others to get in.
I know people who have started vending (junk food) with no experience and the companies offered training, funding and a business plan. I just chose not to because I don’t believe in selling the junk food vending.
SBA requires at least a 680 score for any kind of funding or you can’t even qualify.
I have my own source of funding in a few months, but most people may not.
These are just my thoughts/opinions since I may have friends and family members who may also wish to start a healthy vending business in the future, but may not qualify with the 4 requirements.
Any suggestions, or other alternatives to help qualify others to get into your healthy vending business?
Thanks,

Hey Fernando,
I would suggest trying to find some partners. You could then share restocking responsibilities as well as start-up costs. You are right, it is difficult with the weak economy to find financing for first time vendors. Since it is a novel idea, and there is a large opportunity for growth, they should not have to hard of a time finding a partner.
You are right, some healthy vending machine companies offer training, cash grants for schools, and extensive location acquisition plans, those are the vending companies that you want to join.
Right now there is a barrier to entry, but it should come down in the future as healthy vending becomes more prevalent. Just remember, you are charging higher prices and marketing to a more affluent crowd, so the start-up costs will generally be higher.
Thanks for your comment,
Austin
Jim,
This all sounds like it can be a great thing, but the only problem like everyone else, is the financing. I am sure
that I can find some business partner or partners, but then you have to share the wealth. So as of currently my fico score is sitting at 630 and that is fair, but I am working on it. I just appreciate something new with vending and I am excited to get started with it. How do you find another source of lending for small business other than SBA?
Annette
What are the fees or royalties that H.U.M.A.N. charges for their services? (i.e. Is this a franchise?)
Byron – Currently we are just a business opportunity, but we are on our way to becoming a franchise VERY soon. I’ll keep you updated.
